Suspected kidnappers ambushed a GUO Transport bus along the Benin–Ore axis of the Lagos expressway on Sunday, killing the driver and abducting several passengers, police have confirmed. The commercial bus was traveling from Lagos toward the eastern part of the country on April 19 when it came under heavy gunfire near Iguobazuwa, forcing it to a stop. Eyewitnesses said the driver was shot dead at the scene while armed men dragged passengers into the surrounding bush. A video circulating online showed the bullet-riddled bus and narrators alleging the attackers opened fire before whisking victims away. The number of abducted passengers has not yet been disclosed.
