SAD END: Nigerian Pastor Stabs Wife To Death| in Anambra state.

The Anambra State Government through the state Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, has ordered a probe into the case of the alleged murder of one Mrs. Ogechukwu Okafor, who was allegedly killed by her husband, Mr Elijah. According to PUNCH, It was gathered that the incident happened on August 13, 2024, but was reported to the ministry by the deceased family, following suspicious moves from the husband. This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Wednesday by the media aide to the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Chidimma Ikeanyionwu. According to Ikeanyionwu, the culprit who is said to be a pastor, committed the alleged incident in Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state. 48 passengers, 50 cows killed in Niger tanker fire.

Forty-eight persons confirmed dead in the petrol tanker explosion on Sunday were given a mass burial in the Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State. PUNCH Metro  gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the petrol tanker had a head-on collision with a truck loaded with travellers and cattle from Wudil in Kano State. The Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Abdullahi Baba-Arab, who gave the update, also confirmed that the 48 persons were burnt beyond recognition necessitating the mass burial in the local government. According to him, following further search and rescue operations, 18 more bodies were recovered from the 30 bodies earlier reported. “Following further search and rescue operation, my agency discovered 18 more bodies which were also burnt to death and all the dead have been given a mass burial,” he said. Popular Nigerian Gospel Singer Aduke Gold Confirmed Dead.

Popular Nigerian gospel music artist, Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold has been confirmed dead. The death of the singer was announced on social media by fellow artiste Esther Igbeke. Igbeke posted a tribute with Aduke Gold’s picture and the caption: “A general has fallen. RIP.” Aduke Gold, despite being orphaned at four and battling severe vertigo, rose above her struggles to become a shining star in the gospel music industry. Her breakthrough single, “Nitori 0go” (translated as ‘Because of Glory’), which featured on her popular eight-track album gained wide admiration. She earned a degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University and held multiple qualifications in Special Education, Aquaculture, and more. Her passion extended beyond music to working with children with special needs which includes autism, cerebral palsy, and dyslexia.

Tinubu seems not to understand why people are protesting – Anambra residents.

Some residents of Umuahia, capital of Anambra, on Sunday, urged President Bola Tinubu, to address the problem of hunger in the country to put an immediate end to the ongoing nationwide protest. The people made the request in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria, describing the widespread hunger as the root cause of the protest. They spoke against the backdrop of Sunday’s nationwide broadcast by the president. In the broadcast, he ruled out the chances of reversing the policy on fuel subsidy removal, despite the agitation by the #EndBadGovernanceIn Nigeria protesters. A resident, Mr Onyebuchi Irunna, argued that the protest was about the pervasive poverty in the country which, he said, was worsened by the high cost of living. A pastor and Four others arrested for selling two-month-old baby.

The Police Command in Lagos State has arrested five persons, including a couple, over their alleged involvement in selling a two-month-old baby. According to PUNCH,The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests on Saturday in a statement in Lagos. Hundeyin said that detectives from the Oko-oba Police Division arrested the suspects following a report from the mother of the baby boy. According to him, the mother of the child reported that one of the suspects absconded with her son to an unknown destination on July 11. Detectives swung into action, which led to the arrest of one Gloria, who during interrogation confessed to selling the baby for ₦500,000 to one Pastor Peter. Pastor Peter, who was subsequently arrested in Ikene Town, Ogun, admitted reselling the child for N1.4 million to one Loretta. ”Loretta was then also arrested in Festac Town, Lagos.
