Super Eagles confirm Osimhen, Awoniyi out. Report Desmond .March 19, 2024 6:34pm

The Super Eagles have confirmed Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Tyronne Ebuehi and Gabriel Osho have all been ruled out of the friendlies against Ghana and Mali. All four players will not feature in the friendlies due to injury.  national team also confirmed that 12 call-ups have already reported in training camp in Marrakesh, Morocco, for these games.The players include Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Jamilu Collins and Sadiq Umar, who have all been recalled after missing out on the recent AFCON. Others are Moses Simon, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Stanley Nwabali, Alhassan Yusuf, Ademola Lookman and Bruno Onyemaechi. The other players are expected in camp today. Fenerbache defender Bright Osayi-Samuel is the only player due in Morocco tomorrow. Finidi George will lead the Super Eagles in an interim capacity against Ghana and Mali. The first game is Friday against Ghana and four days later they take on Mali.

Luis Suarez recorded his second brace in Major League Soccer as Inter Miami claimed a crucial 3-1 victory away at DC United. The Uruguayan forward netted in the 72nd and 85th minute after Leonardo Campana had cancelled out Jared Stroud's opener for the hosts. Miami were without the services of captain Lionel Messi due to injury but still claimed their third win in five Eastern Conference outings this term.
