Hakimi Rejects AFCON Trophy, Congratulates Senegal on Fair Win.

 Achraf Hakimi has reportedly rejected the AFCON trophy, showing sportsmanship after the tournament controversy.

According to him, my mum told me to reject the AFCON trophy. I’m officially rejecting it and hope my teammates do the same. We had our chance to win, but we didn’t. That’s football, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

He added that Senegal national football team beat us fairly and deserved the win. It would be unfair to take away their joy after their hard work. I respect CAF’s decision, but I did not win the 2025 AFCON. Congratulations to Senegal once again.
