"Tunji Disu Appointed Acting IGP After Egbetokun's Resignation"

Tunji Disu has been appointed as the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) by President Bola Tinubu, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun. Disu, who previously served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Force CID Annex, Lagos, brings over three decades of experience in operational, intelligence, and administrative roles to his new position. 

Some key highlights about Tunji Disu include:

- *Early Life and Education*: Born on April 13, 1966, in Lagos Island, Disu graduated from Lagos State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education.

- *Police Career*: Disu joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, and has held various roles, including Divisional Police Officer, Officer in Charge of SARS, and Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and Abuja.

- *Leadership Roles*: He commanded the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) from 2015 to 2021 and headed the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) from 2021.
