US Captures Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in Surprise Military Operation.

"Nicolas Maduro, the President of Venezuela, was arrested by US forces in a military operation in Caracas, Venezuela, on January 3, 2026. He was taken into custody and flown to the United States, where he faces federal charges, including narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, and possession of machine guns and destructive devices. 

Maduro's wife, Cilia Flores, was also arrested and is facing charges alongside him. The US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, stated that Maduro and his wife will face the full force of American justice in a New York court. 

The arrest has sparked mixed reactions globally, with some applauding the move and others condemning it as a violation of international law. 

The German government has called for a political solution to the crisis in Venezuela.
