Odira Nwobu's death has sparked widespread grief in Nigeria's entertainment industry. The 43-year-old Nollywood actor and content creator passed away in South Africa on November 24, 2025, while on a promotional trip for a Nigerian-owned real estate company. He was found gasping for breath in his hotel room in Benoni, near Johannesburg, and despite attempts to revive him using a defibrillator, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cause of Death

The exact cause of Odira's death is yet to be confirmed, pending a coroner's report. However, a colleague suggested that Odira had high blood pressure issues and may have failed to take his medication as prescribed. Two days before his death, his blood pressure was recorded at 171, which is dangerously high.
