Nigerian Police IG Cautions Rivers Governor Fubara Against Making ‘Unfounded Allegations’

In a recent statement, Nigeria's Police Chief has urged Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to refrain from making what the Chief described as "unfounded allegations" against him and the Nigerian police force. This caution comes in the wake of tensions between state authorities and law enforcement officials regarding security measures and governance.

The Police Chief emphasized the importance of cooperation between state governments and law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of citizens. He expressed concern that unfounded claims could undermine the public's trust in the police and hinder effective policing in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara has been vocal about his concerns regarding security in the state, raising issues that he believes need urgent attention. However, the Police Chief's response underscores a call for dialogue and collaboration, urging the governor to provide constructive feedback rather than accusations that could escalate tensions.

Both parties have a shared interest in maintaining peace and security in Rivers State, and it is essential that they work together to address the challenges facing the region. The Police Chief's warning serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in governance and law enforcement.

As the situation develops, citizens and stakeholders will be watching closely to see how both sides respond and work towards a unified approach to tackling security issues in the state.
