The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the renowned socialite Cubana Chief Priest have reached an agreement to resolve a case of alleged naira abuse filed against the socialite outside of court.

The out-of-court settlement was disclosed when the proceedings resumed on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024.

On Wednesday, April 17, the Federal High Court in Lagos State granted Cubana Chief Priest bail in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like amount.

He was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts related to the abuse of the naira, spraying, and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social event, contravening the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.


The socialite was alleged to have sprayed the naira on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, and was said to have committed the offenses while dancing during a social event.

Sharing a video of him walking majestically out of the court today, Cubana Chief Priest wrote; 

Court day !!! Problem No Good Oh, @officialefcc 🦅 No Dey Joke Oh !!!! Better Stay Away From Their Wahala, I’m SUre You Will Not Love To Pass Through This Kinda Stress I’m Passing Through.”
