Boniface and Tella joined Arsenal icon legend Kanu Nwankwo as the only Nigerians ever to win a league title in an unbeaten season.

Kanu was part of the Arsenal Invincibles squad in 2004, scoring 3 goals in 24 appearances.


Leverkusen's unbeaten run is not limited to the Bundesliga, as they also have the chance to complete an unbeaten treble, having reached the finals of the DFB Pokal and UEFA Europa League.

This would be remarkable, surpassing even Arsenal and Juventus's accomplishments.

Milan won the Serie A in 1992 unbeaten, Arsenal did same in 2004, and Juventus replicated the feat in 2012 under Antonio Conte.
