Stop Brainwashing Poor Members With Sowing Seed – Pastor Kumuyi Tells Pastors.

Image
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor  William Kumuyi , has urged Nigerian pastors to stop brainwashing their members with seed sowing for financial prosperity. According to Naija News,  the pastor appealed while preaching at a Christian meeting on Friday, October 18. Kumuyi said the ideal thing is for poor church members, especially widows, to receive help from their pastors by providing solutions to their needs and not being exploited with seed sowing. He also expressed concern about how church founders are getting richer at the expense of their members. He said,  “Elijah added value to the people that are low and those widows that cannot pay back that is what the anointing does in our lives. You add value to people; to those who are down raise them up, those who are poor. There are preachers, they take the little that the widows have. In our nation here, they say if you sow this seed the Lord will multiply it a hundredfold...

Nigerian national assembly has proposed a five percent excise duty on telecommunications services, gaming, betting, and lottery activities. On July 6, 2023, President Bola Tinubu  signed  four executive orders, including the suspension of the 5 percent excise tax on telecommunication services to ameliorate the negative impact of tax adjustments on businesses and households. According to an executive bill, titled ‘Nigeria Tax Bill 2024,’ the national assembly is seeking reintroduction of the excise duty. The bill proposed that the amount of an excisable transaction is the amount chargeable for the service by the service provider, “both in money or money’s worth”. Services, including telecommunications, gaming, gambling, betting, and lotteries however described, provided in Nigeria shall be charged with duties of excise at the rates specified under the Tenth Schedule to this Act in a manner as may be prescribed by the Service,” the document reads. Officers of the Lagos State Police Command have fired teargas to disperse protesters rallying to mark the fourth anniversary of the #EndSARS protest. Videos seen on Sunday morning showed protesters fleeing as the police fired shots. The protesters had converged around 8:30 am at the toll gate with several banners and placards, calling for the full implementation of the reports submitted by various judicial panels of inquiry set up after the 2020 protests. In October 2020, thousands of youths gathered in major cities across the country to protest against the constant harassment, killings, and extortion by officers of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad, a unit of the Nigerian police. The protest culminated at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, where several youths were reportedly killed and many others severely injured following the intervention of the Nigerian military. In the aftermath of the protests, judicial panels were established across various states to assess and revi...

Francis Ngannou took less than four minutes to knock out Renan Ferreira, marking an emotional return to mixed martial arts (MMA). The former UFC heavyweight champion stepped back into the cage for the first time in over two years, having last defended his title against Ciryl Gane. In the interim, Francis Ngannou had pursued a brief boxing career, narrowly losing to Tyson Fury on points before suffering a brutal second-round knockout against Anthony Joshua. Ngannou had originally faced Ferreira prior to his loss to Joshua. True to his word, he returned to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) to take on the formidable Brazilian champion, despite the heart-wrenching loss of his one-year-old son earlier this year. Ferreira, who claimed the PFL heavyweight title last year, had defeated Ryan Bader earlier in 2024 to set up the highly anticipated clash with Ngannou. After a cautious opening minute, Ngannou unexpectedly took the fight to the ground, execut...
