"Tragedy in the Barracks: Army Officer Dies After Wife Sets Him Ablaze

Lieutenant Samson Haruna, a medical doctor and Nigerian Army officer, tragically died after his wife, Mrs. Samson Haruna, allegedly set him on fire during a domestic dispute at Wellington Bassey Barracks in Akwa Ibom State. The incident occurred on September 22, 2025, after a heated argument over her suspicion of infidelity.  The argument escalated, and Mrs. Haruna doused her husband with petrol and set him ablaze. Lt. Haruna was immediately rushed to the military clinic within the barracks for stabilization and later transferred to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for further treatment.  Despite medical efforts, Lt. Haruna succumbed to severe burns. Mrs. Haruna was arrested and is currently in custody, with ongoing investigations into the incident. Lt.
