Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has addressed rumors circulating online about the alleged death of a nurse in his home, saying "there is no secrecy" around the matter.

The claim started trending on social media after a post alleged that a nurse died under unclear circumstances at the minister's residence. The story quickly spread on X, Facebook, and WhatsApp groups, with many Nigerians demanding answers.

What Umahi Said
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Umahi dismissed the reports and described them as "fake news and mischief" aimed at tarnishing his image.

"There is no secrecy. Nothing like that happened in my house," Umahi said. "I am a public figure. If anything happened, the whole world would know. People should stop spreading lies."

He urged Nigerians to verify information before sharing, adding that security agencies are aware of the false reports.

How The Rumor Started.
The rumor began after an anonymous post claimed that a nurse who worked with the minister's family had died and that the incident was being covered up.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official police report, hospital record, or credible media outlet confirming that any such incident occurred at the minister's home.
The story sparked mixed reactions online.
Some Nigerians called for a proper investigation, saying public officials should be transparent.
Others accused bloggers and social media pages of spreading fake news for clicks.

Government And Security Position.
As of now, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies have not released any statement confirming the alleged incident.

Umahi said he is open to any investigation and has nothing to hide. "I serve Nigerians and I will not be distracted by lies," he added.
This incident is another example of how quickly unverified information can spread online.

The National Orientation Agency has warned Nigerians to get news from credible sources and to avoid sharing posts that cannot be verified.

For now, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has denied the allegation and called for an end to the rumors. There is no official confirmation of the alleged death from police or health authorities.

We at DESSY'S Blog will continue to monitor the situation and update this story if any official statement is released.
