Tragedy in Anambra as Three Children Found Dead in Native Doctor’s House.

Tragedy struck in Anambra State on Thursday after three children were found dead inside the home of a female native doctor in the state.

There was panic in Umuduba village, Ideani Community in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State after three children were found dead inside the home of a female native doctor.

The children, reported to be between the ages of 6 and 15, were discovered lifeless in the residence of the woman popularly called "Ezenwanyi" in the area.

According to sources, there was a fourth child who was found alive. The President General of Ideani Community, Chief Paul Okoye, alongside the DPO of Ogidi Police Division reportedly intervened and rushed the child to a hospital. The child is said to be currently receiving treatment.

The news has left residents of Ideani Community in shock as police are expected to begin investigation into what happened.

The situation has thrown residents into shock and mourning. 

According to local sources, neighbors raised the alarm after noticing unusual silence around the native doctor’s compound for more than a day. When some community members forced their way into the house, they discovered the lifeless bodies of three children inside. 

The female native doctor, whose name is also being withheld, was reportedly not at home when the bodies were discovered. It is unclear what led to the deaths, and police have not released an official statement on the cause.

Police Response.

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command were said to have arrived at the scene hours after the discovery. The bodies were evacuated and deposited at a morgue for autopsy. The house was also cordoned off while investigations began.

A senior police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said, "We are treating this as a case of unnatural death. The scene has been preserved and we are working to locate the owner of the house for questioning."

Community Reaction.

The news has sparked anger and fear in the community. Some residents gathered around the house, calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the children.

One resident said, "We don’t know what happened here. These children were seen playing two days ago. To now hear they are dead in a native doctor’s house is painful."

Community leaders have appealed for calm and urged people not to take the law into their own hands while the police investigate.

The Anambra State Police Command is expected to release a full statement after preliminary findings. The house will remain sealed off as part of the investigation.

For now, families in the area are grieving and demanding answers on how the children ended up dead in the native doctor’s home.
