Olawale, who studied Project Management Technology, graduated with First Class Honours and recorded a cumulative grade point average of 4.96. His achievement earned him the overall best graduating student position for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Oluolamide, an Aerospace Engineering graduate, also finished with First Class Honours, recording an impressive 4.97 CGPA to emerge as LASU’s best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The latest reward adds to the recognition already received by Oluolamide for his exceptional academic performance. Days before Sanwo-Olu’s announcement, the graduate received a separate N10 million cash prize from the Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme for emerging as LASU’s overall best graduating student for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The recognition of the two graduates came as LASU held its combined convocation for two academic sessions. The university said more than 20,000 students would graduate across the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 sessions, including 494 first-class graduates.

Olawale, celebrating his achievement, described his emergence as LASU’s best graduating student as a product of divine grace. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to achieve academic excellence and said the accomplishment had inspired him to pursue bigger dreams and greater impact.

Oluolamide also celebrated his feat after receiving Senate approval for his 4.97 CGPA in Aerospace Engineering. He attributed his success to God’s grace, wisdom and strength throughout his university journey.

Sanwo-Olu’s latest gesture further highlights the growing recognition of academic excellence among students in Lagos State-owned institutions. By personally rewarding the two graduates with N20 million each, the governor has provided significant financial incentives for students to pursue excellence and distinguish themselves academically.

The awards also bring the total value of the governor’s latest personal gifts to the two LASU scholars to N40 million, with each beneficiary receiving N20 million.
