Lekki Pastor, Ex-Lover Clash Over Leaked Sex Video as Blackmail, Marriage Claims Emerge.

A fresh controversy has erupted in Lagos involving the Presiding Pastor of Zionwealth of Life Assembly in the Lekki area of Lagos State, Apostle Chris Omatsola, and his former lover, Tamaratokoni Okpe, following the circulation of an intimate video involving the estranged couple.

The dispute has generated considerable attention online, with both parties reportedly giving different accounts of how the private video found its way onto the Internet.

Okpe, who hails from Delta State, reportedly accused the cleric of releasing the video in an attempt to pressure her into marrying him. Her allegation has added another dramatic dimension to a relationship that ended several years ago.

However, Omatsola has denied the allegation. Speaking to PUNCH Metro, the cleric reportedly said the video was leaked as part of an attempt to blackmail him.

According to reports, the two were romantically involved for approximately seven months in 2018. During the relationship, they had sexual encounters that were reportedly recorded on video.

What was once a private relationship has now become a public controversy, with accusations and counter-accusations dominating discussions surrounding the matter.

The incident has also raised questions about the dangers of recording intimate moments and the devastating consequences that can follow when such material is leaked or deliberately circulated online.

Beyond the identities of the individuals involved, the controversy highlights a wider problem in today's digital society. Private content can be copied and distributed within minutes, leaving the people involved with little control over where it ends up or who sees it.

My View

In my opinion, this is a situation where people should exercise restraint and avoid turning somebody's private life into entertainment.

If the allegations made by either party are true, they are serious and should be properly investigated rather than decided by social media. The fact that one of the people involved is a pastor naturally attracts public interest, but his position should neither shield him from accountability nor make allegations against him automatically true.

At the same time, anyone who records intimate moments should understand the potential risks involved. More importantly, people should not share or circulate leaked sexual content. Doing so only increases the harm suffered by the people involved.

For me, the biggest lesson from this controversy is simple: a broken relationship should not become a battle fought through private videos, public accusations and social-media judgment.

Whatever happened between the former lovers, the truth should be established through credible evidence and the appropriate authorities—not through viral posts, rumours or online trials.
