Three villagers were killed and two injured after bandits attacked a POS shop in Galadimawa, Igabi LGA, Kaduna State on August 4, 2026.

Panic and grief have gripped Galadimawa community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State after suspected bandits attacked a Point of Sale, POS, shop and opened fire on residents.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened at about 4:30pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Residents said the gunmen came into the community on two motorcycles. Armed with AK-47 rifles, they rode straight to the POS shop and started shooting
A local source told Daily Trust:
_“They rode into town on two bikes and headed straight to the POS shop. They opened fire on people. Five people were shot. Three died instantly, while two others were injured. After that they took an undisclosed amount of money and ran away.”_

The victims who lost their lives were identified as Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi, Yakubu Muazu, and Magaji Sarauta.

The two injured persons, Mr Aliyu Rufai and Mr Umar Mohammed, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following the attack, angry residents have called on the Kaduna State Government to increase security presence in the area, especially by deploying more soldiers.A community leader, who pleaded anonymity, said many nearby villages have been displaced due to repeated bandit attacks. He added that most displaced persons have moved to Galadimawa, making the community more crowded and vulnerable.

As of the time of this report, security operatives are yet to make an official statement on the incident.

I think the federal government of Nigeria needs to build more security trust so that the villagers will know they are not alone.
