NIGERIA: FG Announces N50,000 Monthly Grant for Small Business Owners Nationwide.
Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government has announced a new support scheme that will see eligible small business owners across Nigeria receive N50,000 monthly grants to help grow their businesses.
The program was unveiled on Saturday by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment as part of efforts to fight poverty and boost the economy.
What The Grant Is About.
The "Small Business Growth Fund" will target traders, artisans, farmers, and young entrepreneurs in all 36 states + FCT.
Officials say the goal is to help small businesses survive rising costs and create more jobs in local communities.
Minister of Industry said:
_"This grant is not a loan. It is direct support to help MSMEs restock, buy equipment, and expand. We want to put money directly into the hands of Nigerians doing real work."_
Who Can Apply.
To qualify, applicants must:
1. Be Nigerian and own a registered or unregistered small business.
2. Be between 18 - 55 years old.
3. Have a BVN and business account.
4. Operate in trading, food, fashion, tech, farming, or artisan work.
Priority will be given to women, youths, and persons with disabilities.
How To Apply.
Applications will open on the official government portal next week. Beneficiaries will be selected through BVN verification and state government screening.
Payments of N50,000 per month for 3 months will be sent directly to approved bank accounts.
With inflation and high cost of goods, many small businesses have been struggling. This grant is expected to help over 1 million business owners nationwide.
Economists say if implemented well, it could boost local markets and reduce unemployment.
This is one of the biggest direct cash grants for small businesses in Nigeria this year. If you run a kiosk, salon, tailoring shop, food business, or any small trade, this could be for you.
Keep your BVN and business details ready. Full application details will be published on DESSY'S Blog once the portal opens.
