NEWS: NDLEA Arrests 38-Year-Old South African Woman With 5.75kg Heroin At Abuja Airport

Abuja, Nigeria— Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA have arrested a 38-year-old South African woman, Jessica Ann Will, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, NAIA Abuja for trafficking  5.75 kilograms of heroin.

The arrest happened on *6th July, 2026* at the Arrival Baggage Hall, according to details on the NDLEA exhibit board.

*How The Arrest Happened*
According to NDLEA, Jessica Ann Will arrived Nigeria from *Brakpan, South Africa* via an international flight.

During routine screening at NAIA, NDLEA officers became suspicious and conducted a thorough search. The heroin was discovered concealed in her luggage.

The seized drugs were also displayed on a table in front of her, wrapped in yellow parcels.

The NDLEA has intensified operations at all international airports in 2026. The Chairman/Chief Executive, *Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd)* has repeatedly warned that the agency will profile every passenger regardless of nationality.

This arrest at NAIA shows the agency’s commitment to stopping Nigeria from being used as a transit or destination point for hard drugs.

Under the NDLEA Act, trafficking in heroin attracts severe penalties. If convicted, offenders face lengthy jail terms and forfeiture of assets used in the crime.
